Middle school students and their teachers
fanned out across the city photographing elected officials and other
civic leaders all under the name of Washington Mutual, effectively
serving as goodwill ambassadors. Each financial center hosted a special
opening of their local exhibit and the program generated local print
and television coverage. The exhibit was featured at the New York
Historical Society (NYHS) for four months and was kicked off by a
reception attended by more than 1000 students, their families and
public servants from across New York and New Jersey. This successful
program is being replicated in other Washington Mutual markets (www.wamucommunities.com). |
